Marshawn Lynch, a current running back for the Seattle Seahawks football team, was arrested in the Oakland, CA area over the weekend for an alleged DUI.
A police officer reported that the 26 year-old Lynch was arrested in Emeryville, CA when he was subjected to a chemical test to check his blood alcohol level. Lynch failed the test and was then arrested for driving while under the influence.
Lynch was in California to award a scholarship to a recent graduate from one of his charity foundations. Lynch has also recently signed a new four-year contract extension with the Seahawks, reportedly worth about $31 million.
This is not Lynch’s first run-in with the law. He was arrested in 2008 for driving with a suspended license during a hit and run where he struck a pedestrian. He was also arrested in 2009 for possession of a concealed firearm.
