Robert Peavey, a 57-year-old Gloucester, Massachusetts native, was trying to cross a Maine road on his snowmobile on Friday, March 7, 2014 at about 6:15 when he was struck and killed by a pickup truck traveling southbound on the road.
Leroy Hiscock, 69, of Livermore Falls, Maine, was driving southbound on state route in Maine with a seven-year-old boy, likely his grandson, and his two dogs, when Peavey tried to cross the road on his snowmobile. Hiscock’s pickup truck collided with Peavey’s snowmobile, killing Peavey and one of the dogs that was traveling with Hiscock in his pickup. Peavey was pronounced dead at the scene and Hiscock was treated for his injuries, but fortunately, the seven-year-old boy who was traveling with Hiscock was not injured.
