71 year-old Donald Olson, of Prattsville, New York, was killed this past Thursday morning after another car crossed the center line and struck his vehicle on Route 23 in Windham, New York.
According to authorities with the Greene County Sheriff’s Office, the driver of the other car, 48 year-old Kathleen McNeil-Blout, of Jewett, NY, crossed the center double yellow line on Route 23 and struck Olson’s vehicle.
The car accident occurred just before 8 a.m. Thursday May 9 near the junction of Route 23 and Cross Road in Windham. When emergency responders arrived, both cars were smoking and were heavily damaged from the motor vehicle accident.
Olson was found unresponsive and was pronounced dead at the scene of the auto crash. McNeil-Blout was extricated from her vehicle and transported to the Albany Medical Center emergency room with serious injuries to her lower body.
The Green County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate the causes of the motor vehicle crash. No charges have been filed against McNeil-Blout at this time.
