High School Squirt Gun Game Causes Minor Car Crash.

Merrimack, New Hampshire high school students playing a game called “Assassins,” where students receive the name of another student, who they are supposed to “assassinate” by squirting with a squirt gun before they are “assassinated” by being shot with a squirt gun were involved in a minor car crash around 2:45 p.m. on Wednesday, March 19, 2014.

The rules of the game are simple; “each student pays $5 and is assigned a target. They have to then track, stalk or otherwise find their targets and hit them with a blast of water, all the while avoiding their own anonymous assassin. The last person standing, wins,” according to Merrimack Police Captain Peter Albert.  The game is usually harmless according to Albert, but when students go too far, it can be dangerous, which has caused Merrimack Police and the Merrimack High School to warn participants to “be careful, use common sense, [and] don’t put [themselves] in a bad position.”

Students put themselves in a bad position on Wednesday, March 19, 2014, when some “Assassins” participants blocked the driveway of another player.  The student whose driveway was blocked accidentally backed into the car that was blocking the driveway in an attempt to avoid the “assassination.”  Fortunately, nobody was hurt and only minor damage resulted from the crash, but police are investigating to determine whether the crash was intentional or negligent.

It’s all fun and games until somebody puts themselves in a bad situation.  When harmless gets out of hand and cars are involved, accidents can happen.  Car accidents can cause serious personal injuries and even death that can greatly disrupt the lives of the victims and their families.
